EES Delta Survey - Walk out of town

For the third season running, during March and April 2011, Dr Patricia Spencer, the Society’s Director, will be posting regular updates from the Delta, Egypt.

Walk out of town

The sun finally broke through the clouds just before it was due to set so we went for a short walk in the ‘out of town’ direction and found a very pleasant ‘tea garden’ just along the road from our hotel, which looks like a good place to relax in nicer weather.

Kafr es-Sheikh has pedestrian crossings marked on the roads, though no-one uses them nor does the traffic stop but we like the signs showing where they are – the rather jumpy actions of the pedestrians shown will be familiar to anyone who has tried to cross a busy road in Egypt!
